I’m Greg, the Forever GM.
I've been an improv comedian and voice-over artist for over 30 years and a Dungeons and Dragons player since I was 12. I love sharing the fun of RPGs with everyone from kids to grown-ups, newbies to old-school folk like myself.
I grew up loving The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit (I even managed to get myself a tiny part in one of the Hobbit movies), and when I discovered Dungeons & Dragons, I knew I’d found a lifetime hobby. My first visits to some of the old-school hobby and bookstores that used to be in Wellington when I was a kid also started a dream: one day I wanted to own my own game and bookstore. I’m not quite there yet, but Forever GM at Titahi Bay Studios and Lounge is a place to start from.
I'm also a bit obsessive about board games (according to my whānau), so the Board Game Library is a collection of games from home that it was time to get off the shelves and share with others. A game that’s not getting played is a pretty sad game!
I’m all about play and having fun. Whether it’s in the online games I run, in cool venues around town or at my own space in Titahi Bay Studios and Lounge, I want it to be easy for people to play. My games are full of fun, interesting, colourful characters that do the heavy lifting so you can play your own way. Want to take a star turn? I'm down with that too.
Most of all, I love teaching people about Dungeons & Dragons and all the other games I’ve got just waiting to be shared. So drop by online or in person, and let’s play!
My Substack
From time to time, I just dump my thoughts out into the void on my Substack.
It’s a mix of intermittent blogging, thoughts on roleplaying games and reviews of games that I’m reading.
